Notes: All that remained of Uncle Jeff's week of concerts were digital memo's and a hacking cough. I knew it would be best to give Jeff plenty of room as he made aesthetic decisions. I can just tell stuff like that. Ted, you can't realize how opportune the arrival of your CD was. It was like gasoline for engine Jefferson. The sets were flowing well until Screamin' Jay Hawkins and Tom Waits showed up. Ukulele Loki reflected that, "November" contained gorgeous accordion, bass banjo and saw... his favorite setup for a band, but it seemed to me a poisonous twist, a lethal tail spin which Woven Hand kept from hitting the ground. Dallas Wayne's, "I'm Your Biggest Fan," made numerous references that got a smirk out of Jeff.

Throughout the show samples from Astroboy and The Andromeda Strain mixed in and out of traks as Jeff and Loki reminisced concert tales. I continued to give Jeff plenty of room as he made those aesthetic decisions. With Ukulele Loki's help the show moved toward the train station with a serene dignity. The audio will be worth a second listen.

Calexico's, "All Systems Red" was the hot trak today. Relaxing smooth riffs and vocals flowed toward speeding raw guitar backed with bubbling background effects. But don't ignore Woven Hand!

Driving to the Mountain Sun I couldn't help but feel that Tom's Tavern should be the destination, but without Dee it's just another mall bar. As I stood waiting for Jeff in front of the Army Navy Store I wondered if another Sunday tradition could crop up?

Happy Halloween and stay tuned for more next week.
